About CKE

Captain Kirk Enterprises has been in the making for several years. Our main purpose is to share information about our fishing experiences. However, one day we hope grow into an active family run “enterprise” related to sport fishing. This site provides pictures and valuable tips for catching fish like the ones in our photo gallery.

Captain Kirk
Steve Kirk grew up in Baltimore, Maryland, fishing the freshwaters of the Potomac and the estuaries of the Chesapeake Bay with his father. He is currently President of ESI Computing www.esicomputing.com which represents manufacturers of high-performance, real- time embedded computing products for the engineering and scientific markets. He is also a licensed U.S.C.G. captain and guide. Although he is not currently "for hire," he serves as a guide for friends, business associates, and for charitable events. Click the Photo Gallery tab above to see some of the results. Captain Kirk's fleet consists of three vessels equipped for various missions: a 27 ft. Eastern for offshore saltwater, a 19 ft. Twin Vee for saltwater fly fishing, and a 19 ft. Ranger bass boat for freshwater.
John Kirk
John is an active member of Chelmsford Bass Tacklers, a B.A.S.S. affiliated fishing club. He grew up fishing, from surf casting off the beaches of Cape Cod as a youngster, and bluegill fishing in New Hampshire's beautiful lakes, to bass fishing in New England and Florida as a teenager. Although he also enjoys saltwater fishing, John is much more partial to the relaxing approach of freshwater fishing. Focusing more on the technical sportsman-like aspects of catching bass, John enjoys the challenge of catching fish on artificial lures. There is something about catching a five-pound bass on a fluke in the grass John finds simply irresistible. Although father and son enjoy different types of New England fishing, the combination of their knowledge in the two fields makes for a force unlike any other.
